Benevilla and Rio Salado Collaborate for Lifelong Learning

For many older adults, the desire to continue learning never goes away and, in fact, the ability to continue the learning process can be an essential key to happiness.

The opportunity for older adults to take RISE Learning for Life classes, Rio Salado College Lifelong Learning Center non-credit classes, Adult Basic Education classes, and many others can make a tremendous difference in the quality of their lives.

For Jean and Peter Vandermeer, attending Rio Salado classes has been made substantially easier due to the partnership between the college and Benevilla. Jean is comfortable in the knowledge that Peter will enjoy reading his newspaper and socializing with friends at Benevilla's adult day center, Lucy Anne's Place, while she participates in the classes which are located just steps away from Benevilla campus.

According to Benevilla's Joanne Thomson, Day Center supervisor at Lucy Anne's Place, "The partnership of Benevilla and Rio Salado College has allowed many older adults in the Northwest Valley an open door to continued learning, personal growth and a much higher quality of life."
