Many local retailers, such as Fry’s Food Stores, Basha’s, Safeway, Albertsons, Smart & Final, have begun paying for employees to take retail management classes for the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC) certificate.

The WAFC is an organization that serves the food industry by providing educational programs for food industry associates. Many of the large grocery chains are WAFC members.
