We hope you will take part in this 2nd annual event to help us replicate the solidarity of last year’s event and to create a new memorable experience.

  • Opening remarks by Rio Salado employees about the meaning of equality and Civil Rights:
  • Erika Mavashev – Incarcerated Re-Entry Student Services Specialist
    O. Tafari Osayande – Associate Dean, Community Standards
    Dr. Aaron Coe – Quality Assurance Program Manager
    Saebin Yi – Student Services Specialist
    Earnestine Harrison – Associate Dean, Instruction
  • Discussion with Dr. Wanda Tucker, Rio Salado faculty senate president and faculty chair for Psychology, Philosophy, and Religious Studies and her special guest Dr. Pam Tucker, who will talk about their journey discovering how their families’ histories are intertwined, beginning with the first African slaves brought to the United States in 1619.
  • MLK tribute march along the Rio Way path ending at the amphitheater for a closing ceremony.
